If you are interested in becoming a piano technician, contact any guild member. The Seattle Chapter meets the third Monday of every month at 7:30 pm. By attending a meeting, you will be able to ask questions, learn from trainings, and decide if this is a profession worth pursuing. Some of the many advantages to becoming a Guild member include access to trainings, workshops, seminars, conventions, personal mentorship, hands-on classes, watching and learning from experts, as well as socializing with people whose passion is working on pianos.

This is a good time to become a piano technician, because many of the top experts are retiring, and the market is large. In addition to servicing pianos in homes, there are also job opportunities at universities, churches, school districts, cruise lines, performance halls, music festivals, and more. There are very few highly qualified technicians remaining, and it is time for a new generation of experts to enter the field. It takes time, commitment, and dedication to master the many skills required to service a piano. One can never be perfect enough, and there is always more to learn. Become an expert in a unique and respected field. Take the first step and attend a meeting.
